Terms & Conditions
Shade Variations-Wood Cabinets: California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. shall do its very best to provide our customers with the most accurate color samples as possible. However, shade variation is to be expected when purchasing a natural product such as wood. All wood species are a product of nature and therefore, natural ‘imperfections’ (spots, shade variances, knots, etc.) will exist. A solid wood cabinet door may not have full matching grain or color. Changes cannot be made to these natural grain and color variations. California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. offers no guarantees on variations in color.
Wood Care: All products should be kept in a climate controlled environment at all times. Any other conditions may void the manufacturer's warranty. It is the nature of wood to expand and contract to varying degrees depending on climate conditions. As a result, cabinet lines with painted surfaces may show fractures in the paint at joints. This is normal and is not considered a defect.
Shade Variations-Stone: Shade variation is to be expected when purchasing a natural product such as stone/granite. The Buyer hereby acknowledges that all products offered by California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. are subject to substantial variations in color, shading, width, dimensions, texture, shape, finish, consistency and durability. It is understood and agreed that California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. shall not be held responsible for any and all damages and/or claims resulting from natural variations in the products. Stone products, due to their brittle and porous nature, are subject to chipping and splitting and California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. shall not be responsible for such events. In addition, California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. will not be responsible for the any removal, replacement and/or installation of solid surfaces or related products.
Measurements: It is the responsibility of each client to provide California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. with accurate measurements of their space(s). California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. recommends hiring a professional contractor, installer or finish carpenter to assist with this process if the client is not 100% confident in their ability. It is recommended that the same professional who will be completing the product installation, be involved in the measuring process. Professionals who are trained in the field are more likely to catch potential installation issues during the measuring process than a typical homeowner is California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. is in no way shape or form responsible for the measurements provided by clients.
Take-offs/Drawings: Construction projects change during the process. The design dimensions provided by California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. will be exact and based on the information provided by the client. Should any information change during the construction process, it is the responsibility of the client to inform California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. of such changes prior to ordering. California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. is not responsible for any client provided measurements. It is the responsibility of the client to ensure they are providing California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. with accurate and updated information and dimensions at all times.

There will be a 10% per month finance charge for balances over 30 days and the client will be responsible for all costs of collection, including attorneys' fees and costs, incurred by California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. in collecting any overdue amounts

Replacement Items: Should your order require any replacement items for any reason, replacement items will be re-shipped by the manufacturer as quickly as possible. In some cases, this may be within a few days, however, in most cases, this will be within a couple of weeks due to the nature of each item being built to order. Warranties: Each of California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. represented manufacturers offer their own product warranties. All products purchased from California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. are accompanied by such warranties. California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. offers NO additional warranties. Warranties cover parts only. Labor to replace replacement parts is the responsibility of the client. Warranties do not extend to defects caused by improper handling, storage, installation, assembly or disassembly, damages, product modifications, exposure to the elements including humidity or heat which may result in damaging the cabinets, misuse, abuse or negligence.
1. What is covered?
Almost all warranties cover defects in the materials used in a cabinet’s construction. For example, if the hinge on a cabinet door breaks, a replacement hinge will be provided. Likewise, any defects due to workmanship will be covered. If the cabinets arrive and a piece of molding has a scratch in the finish, a new piece of molding will be supplied.
2. What is not covered?
There are three key items that are typically not covered by warranty … misuse, natural aging/darkening of the wood, and labor to replace defective materials. As you would expect, the warranty excludes damage from misuse, abuse, negligence and improper installation. So, if your son uses the drawer as a ladder to reach the cookie jar on the counter, any damage will not be covered.
Over time, wood and finishes will be affected by a variety of environmental factors … lighting, smoke, humidity, and household cleaners to name a few.
Painted cabinets will eventually have small, visible cracking around joints due to the expansion/contraction of the wood from variation in household humidity. These are all considered part of the natural aging process of wood. Consequently, they are not considered imperfections and are not covered by warranties.
When an item is considered defective, the warranty only covers providing a replacement part. The labor cost to install/replace the defective part is typically not covered.
3. What is the length of the warranty?
Warranty length is generally related to the price of the cabinets. The more expensive the cabinets, the longer the warranty. In general, warranties run from 1 to 25 years. As you move to more expensive semi-custom or custom cabinets, the warranties are for the lifetime of the cabinets.
4. Is the warranty transferable?
Almost without exception, the warranty is only good for the original purchaser … it cannot be transferred when your home is sold.
If you believe there is an issue covered by warranty, we encourage contacting the company which supplied the cabinetry. They will be in the best position to help resolve your issue as quickly and conveniently as possible.
California Cabinets Distributor, Inc. reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time.
